COSMOS
Building on the design language of Harman/Kardon, the task was to create a flagship speaker that would stand out in any room. My aim was to honor the company’s roots while introducing a twist —unexpected, yet almost inevitable.
Timeless design often emerges from two extremes: either the subtle neutrality of asthetic minimalism, or a deliberate, bold iconicity that remains relevant across time. For this project I embraced the latter path, aiming to create an unconventional piece.
Recent designs from the company have featured bold metal handles as defining, iconic elements. Here, the soundbox rests on three mirror-polished aluminum legs, drawing inspiration from furniture design. This elevating gesture raises the top touchscreen to a reasonable height, making the interaction easier.
